Matheus Pompeu to star in J. G. Ripper's new opera in Belo Horizonte.

Tenor Matheus Pompeu was named the best singer of 2023 by the blog Notas Musicais for his portrayal of Alfredo in the production of "La Traviata" by G. Verdi at the Municipal Theatre of Rio de Janeiro.

After six years in Europe, the Minas Gerais tenor Matheus Pompeu returns to Brazil to sing in La Traviata, in Rio de Janeiro.

Matheus is a finalist in the 12th International Moniuszko Vocal Competition 2019.

Nominated for the International Opera Awards 2019 for his recording of Halka by S. Moniuszko, with Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante.

Matheus is the winner of the 4th International Adam Didur Opera Singers' Competition.
